the air pump needs to be at a higher level than the water in the tank and it need to be on 24/7

awsome do you plan to breed them?

If you read the instructions with the tank you purchased it will tell you the recommended amount of fish for that size tank..the instructions for each BiOrb tank are not too long and boring lol..and always have a new filter in on hand

its not cruel that tank could probs fit another 5-10 in it

hi mate.. you shouldnt really be turning off the air pump at all... if you do you need to make sure you have a STOP valve fitted and that your pump is ABOVE the water line to stop water coming back up the tube... you will quickly wreck any air pump you use this way.

Once in a while you mean every 4-6 weeks it does become a pain and quiet expensive but these tanks are much better to clean and maintain than a original fish tank,,well recommended and they look good

please can anyone tell me why i have water in my air pump? i turn it off every night so is that the problem? do i need to put the air pump somewhere important because is it gravity that pulls the water down into it so would i need to place it higher than the tank itself or not turn it off at night etc.

isn't it annoying that the filter is right at the bottom and you have to replace it once in a while

I think your reading too much into numbers. 20 is fine in that tank i have seen 20+ minnows in a 25l tank before and no problems. A 40mm neon tetra, on average they grom to 25mm but rarely above 30mm!
