to be honest, it doesnt take that long to clean. With having powerful lights (x4 T5s) I can spend 5 mins giving the front glass a quick clean, then I use an outside hose, stick it in the tank, then turn on the outside tap, that primes the hose, I then unplug it from the tap, and allow the water to backflow out till I lose 50% of the water, then I just reconnect and turn on the tap. its cold water but theres still a large body of water in the tank to equalise, plus x2 300w heaters

1000 liters is the maximum tank size i wish for,one day i´ll get one :)Nice tank, good idea with the marine setup.I also think that a good filtration is important.good job

turn on the tap, which i know puts water in your tank, however you then unplug it, the water will then backflow from the tank, after youve taken out what you want, plug it back in and fill, easy!

the one thing i always advise is to over filter. i dont believe you can overfilter a tank 'within reason'. therefore depending on the size of the tank, i would suggest 1 or 2 external filters. im not sure what filters you are using now, however externals can be left for months. also, if you have an outside tap, you might want to get a hose so you can put one end in the tank, and the other into the tap, make sure you dont have a one way valve, ...continue in next thread..

thats one amazing tank, credit to you sir. i have just a small tank and my fish started to die after buying shrimp. there seemed to be a load of slugs in the tank just after. is there any advice you have for me to look after my fish when i re-new them? i dont have much time but i love to look at them, so anything low maintenance would be great. thank you

I would like to say, that I have never used tacky cheap products, all the rock you see in the tank, whilst it is artificial, is of high quality and hand painted, total cost circa £350, then there is around 75kg of coralsand and various plants and other bits, like the open lobe brain and the other thing I have in there. I enjoy it anyway, it is exactly what I was aiming for and is great to watch

I would love a marine tank, I just think they look so good, with both fish and coral etc. However, I just do not have the time, to give to a marine tank..at the moment, so, having had tropical for about 4 years, I decided to stick with tropical, had a custom made tank and made it look marine style with tropical fish.
