yes they are,as long as you breed them,or buy them from a very clean store,but thats most likely that those are full of desease. try to breed them your self,is real easy and cheap.

and por breeder set up are in trios. they use 5 and 2 1/2 gallons with one trio per tank. and they use no gravel and sponge or box filters. and you should never put 20 fish in a 5 gallon. way over loaded

google guppies and anyways i would recomend goldfish if since they are easy but u need to clean the tank often
