Amazons are bred in captivity, and those are fine to buy as pets. There are a few wild birds still caught, but the trade has diminished drastically over the past decade.You can also tell by the leg-band. If its solid, its a born pet. If its got a segmented (wrapped) appearance, its from the wild.
